Cloth Diapering

So I recently made the switch to cloth diapers and am happy I did so. Just wish I had done it sooner and with my other child years ago. I was simply worried about the clean up, but after talking to a nice lady in the area she told me about a great device that you connect to the toilet and simply spray the diaper down. What a novel idea. Now I must admit who really wants to clean poo, but if you have to do it why not do it the easiest way?

So if you too are undecided there are a few places to shop for cloth diapers here in Katy. I would first start at the resale shop in Old Katy: The Childrens Carousel. I found the owner to be informed as to a few different options. She was able to help me choose what would work best for my child, our schedule, and soaking problems. She even had some that were considered seconds and so were discounted, that always helps, plus who sees the stiching when the diaper is on? She sells both new and used, so you have the option to purchase accordingly.

Another place to look if you are definitely sold on pocket diapers is the resale shop on Mason Rd.: Saturdays Child. They have a stock of Fuzzi Bunz and Swadlebees. Though not quite as knowledgeable they do have a decent selection. If you plan on buying a complete set, then look into ordering them. Often you can find a savings online with free shipping. Likewise they offer new and used diapers.

Something else to think about is the return if you plan on taking them to the resale shop to sale. Some stores offer 50-50 and others even offer 60-40 ( you receive the 60%), not bad for a return on the bottom line.

Check out different blog sites and websites for advice on what system might work best for you. One to try is http://www.clothdiaperblog.com/ and on Fridays they have a giveaway. Below I will include a link to the giveaway.

Hope this helps you other moms.

3 Olives

Well, I must say I was impressed with the atmosphere of this restaurant. We were happy to be seated in the over 21 area (at least I think that was the age they said) where we were able to enjoy adult conversation with out the children and teens. I liked that they had this special area for adults only sort of separate from the rest of the restaurant. If you are looking for a quite place with good food then you should try 3 Olives. The menu had many wonderful options. My husband not being able to eat tomatoes (of course what would Italian be?) was still able to find a couple of selections that worked with his diet. I must say it is far better than the Katy location of Hasta La Pasta, which frankly has turned into a teen spot and the quality of food has started lacking.

Library Time

LOVE IT! My children and I love being involved in story time at the Library. They offer wonderful stories, with rhymes, finger plays, puppet shows and crafts. They offer different options for children of different ages. Within the Library they have computer stations with age appropriate games for children. I love to take advantage of the online catalog and requests books and DVDs so that all we have to do is pick up. Why not check out your local Library with the kids and enjoy the programs that they offer, you might be surprised by what is available.
